Sisters and Brothers,
As many of you know, residents of Jeffersonville, Indiana have been in a long legal struggle with the owners of MAC Construction and Excavating over their asphalt plant
Now MAC has applied to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) for a permit to open a second asphalt plant in Harrison County. A public hearing by IDEM on this issue is not automatic. IDEM must be convinced there is a desire or need for the hearing. The residents of Harrison County deserve a public hearing on this issue and I ask that you take a moment and sign your name to the online petition we have created to demand a public hearing from IDEM on this issue.

If you have not seen the new viral video on U.S. wealth distribution that has been making the rounds, I strongly encourage you to do. The video does an excellent job of highlighting the wealth inequality that exists in the U.S. today.
